Make a Plan to Get Your Flu Shot

The flu (influenza virus) can spread easily and is most likely to spread in the fall and winter. A flu shot can protect you and your loved ones from getting the flu. So, plan to get yours.

Even the healthiest people can get the flu and it can be serious. With ongoing COVID infection rates and other new health concerns, your flu shot is an easy thing to do that can help you stay well. And. if you just got your COVID shot or plan to, you do not need to wait between getting COVID and Flu vaccinations.

A flu shot is especially important for people who are at high risk for getting health problems with the flu. This includes babies over age 6 months, people 65 and older, pregnant women, and people with other chronic health conditions.

Where can I get my flu shot?

Getting your flu shot is important, no matter where you go:

Get your flu shot at your primary care office

Current ChristianaCare Patients:

Flu shots will be available at regularly scheduled primary care and OB/GYN appointments. Additionally, Primary Care sites will run flu clinics and offer flu shot appointments. Check with the office you see regarding availability.

Should I get a flu shot if I have had a Covid vaccine or infection?

Both the COVID and flu vaccines may be administered on the same day. The CDC recommends that patients who are moderately or severely ill with COVID-19 infection should postpone vaccination until they have recovered. Those in isolation or quarantine for COVID-19 should not be vaccinated if there will be a risk of transmission to others.
