Achieving Competency Today (Act) Team Facilitator Development (Atfd)
The ACT team facilitator development program teaches facilitators how to successfully engage all team members and increase team effectiveness. The design is to instruct participants on the principles of effective group facilitation through interactive class discussion, individual mentoring, while co-facilitating an ACT Team. The goal of this program is to develop effective individuals who will facilitate future improvement project teams, provide further organizational learning and institutional success in improvement science.

Audience Delivery
Program Managers, Supervisors, Quality and Safety professionals, Nurses, Residents/Fellows, Physicians, Pharmacists, Allied Health professionals, other individuals with advanced improvement science experience. Facilitated group discussion sessions with unstructured dialogue, storytelling, and role-playing, where participants share practices and specific experiences with teams. Application of key concepts in a one-to-one mentoring relationship as co-facilitator of an ACT Team.
Requirements Pre-Requisites
Completion of Achieving ACT Course or other equivalent knowledge or approved Improvement Science training. Participation must be pre-approved by immediate supervisor, program manager and/or department head. Masters degree, Certification in Medical Quality (CMQ), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), or Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt certified (LSSBB).
Credits/Certification Length
Certificate of completion. 9 hours over six sessions plus co-facilitation of Fall or Winter ACT course (13-week course).
