Executive Vice President and Chief Physician Executive
Ken Silverstein, M.D., MBA, is chief physician executive of ChristianaCare. In these roles, he has overall responsibility for the clinical enterprise of ChristianaCare. This includes ensuring high quality care in all care settings, guiding the continued growth of our clinical services, developing payor strategies that move us away from fee-for-service and toward value-based care models, and ensuring the success of our population health strategy.
Dr. Silverstein joined the Medical-Dental Staff of ChristianaCare in 1991 as an anesthesiologist. He previously served as chair of ChristianaCare’s Department of Anesthesiology, medical director of Perioperative Services and as chief medical officer.
He received his undergraduate degree from Brown University, his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and his MBA from the University of Delaware where he earned the Executive MBA Outstanding Achievement Award.
Dr. Silverstein was a resident and a fellow in anesthesiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He completed his clinical fellowship in anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School. He is a clinical instructor at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
He is a member of the Chief Medical Officer Forum of The Health Management Academy and The Leadership Institute’s Founding Group, and a board member of Jobs for Delaware Grads. He received the National Above and Beyond Award in Washington, D.C., in 2018 for his work with Jobs for America’s Graduates.
