Safety Is Our Priority – Learn more

At ChristianaCare, everything we do is For the Love of Health™, and that focus has guided our response throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We have redesigned how we deliver care to keep our patients and caregivers safe, while providing the high-quality care that our community needs and deserves. This includes greatly expanded options for virtual care and telehealth visits, as well as guidelines that support social distancing, wearing masks, a clean environment and limited numbers of patients and visitors to ensure safety. Trauma Department

When your loved one has a potentially life-threatening injury, the first hours of care are the most important to his or her survival – and the most stressful for the family and friends who rush to the patient’s side.

The trauma team at Christiana Hospital wants you to know that you are not alone. We understand what you are going through and we will help you during this difficult and painful time. Experience has taught us that the more you know about the process of treating your loved one, the better you will deal with the crisis at hand.

This website will help you know what to expect at the different stages of care, from arrival in the Emergency Department through admission, to follow-up care after discharge. When you don’t understand something, ask us, we’re here to help.

As the regional Level 1 trauma center serving adults and children, ChristianaCare has the highest level of trained health care personnel, resources, services and equipment necessary for the best care of the critically injured patient. Please know that your loved one is being cared for by our region’s most advanced trauma team.
