What kind of primary care provider is right for you?
The overuse and misuse of antibiotics has led to antibiotic-resistant germs.

To manage or prevent chronic health conditions, our primary care providers work closely with ongoing programs and initiatives at ChristianaCare that are designed to keep you well. These include:

Our primary care providers work closely with our providers in other specialties that are available to consult on your care plan. If needed, your primary care provider can refer you to specialty services and programs to help you manage sudden or ongoing health concerns. Primary care providers offer a broad spectrum of care and can coordinate all the medical care that you need.

All primary care focuses on keeping you well, caring for you if you are sick, and managing ongoing health conditions. ChristianaCare is excited to offer a diverse group of care from primary care providers who have training in different aspects of primary care. Our provider profiles tell you about each provider’s training and offer you the ability to schedule an appointment online.

  • Family Medicine – cares for any or all of your family members. These providers treat the widest variety of ages and conditions. Family medicine training includes pediatric medicine, gynecology, internal medicine, psychiatry, and more.
  • Internal Medicine – specializes in caring for adults. These providers focus more of their training on the variety of health conditions in adults. Some take additional training in a subspecialty. Those who chose to study pediatrics can see children as well as adults.
  • Pediatrics – cares for infants, children, teens, and young adults. These providers have training that is very focused on infants and children. Learn more.
  • OB/GYN (Obstetricians/Gynecologists) – specializes in childbirth and female reproductive health. Many women have a gynecologist and a primary care provider. Some women want primary care from their gynecology provider. Learn more.
