The Tatiana Copeland Breast Center
Captures images of the breast at multiple angles during a short scan.
ChristianaCare was the first hospital in Delaware to offer 3D mammography, the latest in breast cancer screening. 3D mammography, also known as digital breast tomosynthesis, creates breast images from many low-dose X-rays taken at different angles.
3D mammography can find slightly more cancers than 2D mammography and might reduce the need for extra images. 3D mammography can be useful for women with dense breast tissue, as it can help detect breast cancer within overlapping breast tissue.
