What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?
BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) is an FDA-approved medicine injected into muscles to temporarily reduce the look of wrinkles and rejuvenate the face. When a small amount of BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected into a muscle, it blocks nerve signals that tell your muscles to contract. BOTOX® Cosmetic works beneath the surface to temporarily reduce the underlying muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet lines, and forehead lines in adults—to help them look visibly smoother.
How to Prepare
People 18 years of age and older interested in temporarily improving the appearance of moderate to severe forehead lines, crow’s feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows may be a good candidate for BOTOX® Cosmetic. A consultation with one of our outpatient neurology team members will help determine if BOTOX® Cosmetic is right for you.

Your specialist may evaluate your general health and any pre-existing health conditions or risk factors with you. This may include medical conditions and treatments, medications, allergies, vitamins, herbal supplements, alcohol, tobacco and drug usage and lifestyle. Any past treatment with injectable fillers, such as BOTOX® Cosmetic therapy or other facial rejuvenation procedures, may also be discussed during your consultation.
