General Surgery and Surgical Oncology

ChristianaCare General Surgery and Surgical Oncology Specialists offers advanced open and minimally invasive surgery for many conditions, and we specialize in taking care of cancer patients.

Our highly skilled general surgeons are fellowship trained in surgical oncology and experienced in treating the most complex cases, using the latest technologies and devices. Our mission is to follow the safest, evidenced-based approaches to surgically treat, relieve and prevent symptoms of disease and to improve each patient’s quality and longevity of life.

As both surgeons and oncologists, we have the knowledge and expertise to determine which treatment modality works best for our patients and at which point surgery may or may not fit in to a patient’s cancer care. We work in a multidisciplinary setting with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, gastroenterologists and other specialists along with our patients and their families to provide a comprehensive plan of care for the best possible outcomes. Because cancer care can be very complex, it is important to see a specially trained cancer surgeon early in the management of the disease.
