What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) is an FDA-approved medicine injected into muscles to temporarily reduce the look of wrinkles and rejuvenate the face. When a small amount of BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected into a muscle, it blocks nerve signals that tell your muscles to contract. BOTOX® Cosmetic works beneath the surface to temporarily reduce the underlying muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet lines, and forehead lines in adults—to help them look visibly smoother.

Getting a BOTOX® Cosmetic injection takes just a few minutes. Appointments are scheduled for your convenience at one of our two outpatient offices. ChristianaCare outpatient neurology specialists are here to help you refresh your look and rejuvenate your self-confidence.

Why Choose ChristianaCare?

Our team is specially trained to administer BOTOX® Cosmetic injections in the comfort of our clinical outpatient locations at Whitehall and the HealthCare Center at Christiana.

ChristianaCare outpatient neurology specialists offer BOTOX® Cosmetic to treat:

  • Moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows.
  • Crow’s feet.
  • Forehead lines.

How to Prepare

People 18 years of age and older interested in temporarily improving the appearance of moderate to severe forehead lines, crow’s feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows may be a good candidate for BOTOX® Cosmetic. A consultation with one of our outpatient neurology team members will help determine if BOTOX® Cosmetic is right for you.

To prepare for a BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment at ChristianaCare outpatient neurology, our team will answer any questions you may have during your consultation and discuss your aesthetic goals.

Your specialist may evaluate your general health and any pre-existing health conditions or risk factors with you. This may include medical conditions and treatments, medications, allergies, vitamins, herbal supplements, alcohol, tobacco and drug usage and lifestyle. Any past treatment with injectable fillers, such as BOTOX® Cosmetic therapy or other facial rejuvenation procedures, may also be discussed during your consultation.

We are happy to answer any questions you have during your consultation.

What to Expect

Treatment is usually quick and easy to fit into a busy schedule. Some people say it feels like a pinch.

Individual results may vary. The results may last from 3 to 4 months on average. After that, wrinkles may begin to reappear.

Payment

BOTOX® Cosmetic is available by self-pay at the time of treatment at our outpatient neurology locations.
