HomeHealth - Medical Help At Home

Rehabilitative Services

Help get back into shape for daily activities.

What are Rehabilitative Services?

Whether your loved one needs help getting back into shape for daily activities, rebuilding motor skills and coordination, or restoring communication and understanding after a surgery, accident or illness, or because of a developmental condition, ChristianaCare HomeHealth rehabilitative services are here for you.

Our physical, occupational and speech therapists will come to your, or your family member’s, home to evaluate your loved one’s health and physical abilities and coordinate a complete therapeutic care plan with your loved one’s doctors to restore his or her best health.

HomeHealth rehabilitative services are here for you.

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapists and physical therapist assistants will help your loved one improve strength, balance and coordination, safely at home.

We will show you how to reduce the risk of falls; explain how to safely use devices to help with mobility and range of motion; create a therapeutic exercise plan; offer pain management support; and provide resource planning for meals, transportation, medical assistance and more. For patients with joint replacements, orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, heart and pulmonary conditions, and more – ChristianaCare HomeHealth therapists provide care that counts.

We’ll help you stay comfortably at home by teaching you how to use a cane or wheelchair safely, how to modify tasks and reduce the risk of falls, and which exercises will improve motor and sensory skills, sight and range of motion.

We will help your loved one improve strength, balance and coordination, safely at home.

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapists and occupational therapist assistants will help your loved one restore the skills necessary for safe, independent living after an accident, orthopaedic surgery, joint replacement or neurological injury. Our therapists help you obtain equipment or consult on how to create an environment that will allow you to become more independent in tasks of daily living.

Speech Therapy

When health or developmental conditions make it difficult for your loved one to make sounds, swallow, or communicate, our speech-language therapy home care providers will perform a complete speech, hearing and physical evaluation to develop a specific plan of care to meet you or your loved ones needs.

We can offer your loved one therapeutic exercises to improve swallowing, retrain the voice and enhance speech; teach him or her to use communication systems and devices; and provide instruction in how to reduce the risk of aspiration and choking.

For patients dealing with neurological conditions, stroke, head and neck injuries, developmental issues or hearing loss, our experienced therapists can make a big difference.
