Healthy Beginnings Program

Supporting women with preconception, prenatal, and postpartum care.

Total Care for Delaware Women and Their Babies

Every woman deserves a healthy pregnancy journey, and every baby deserves a healthy start to their life. Our Healthy Beginnings program is here to provide supportive care before, during and after pregnancy. The program is free for women who are eligible.

Our Healthy Beginnings team will support you in meeting your health goals and addressing your challenges to accessing care. They will guide you through your pregnancy journey while supporting your physical and emotional wellbeing. The team is committed to doing what is best for you and your baby.

Patients can be connected to services including personal health and wellness, nutrition, family planning, mental health, and prenatal care.

How Does the Program Work?

Healthy Beginnings is part of Delaware’s DE Thrives Healthy Women, Healthy Babies initiative for Delaware residents. The program is dedicated to improving the health of women and children across the state and reducing our infant mortality rate. More information on this can be found on their website

Healthy Beginnings participants have the ability to be connected to doctors, nurse practitioners, social workers, dieticians, case managers, and behavioral health specialists. Areas of focus include:

  • Preconception care: This identifies and addresses risks to future pregnancies, even if you aren’t planning to get pregnant.
  • Prenatal care: This ensures you and your baby’s wellbeing, from conception to childbirth.
  • Postpartum care: This involves follow up support after delivery.
