Adolescent Health

What is Adolescent Health?

The adolescent years are more than just a time when kids become adults. Teens have their ways of communicating. Their understanding of the world is always a little bit different than any other generation that came before. And they aren’t just big kids in young-adult bodies.

ChristianaCare recognizes the complexity of the adolescent years, and we are committed to providing the teens in our community with high-quality health care that respects their unique needs. Through a diverse array of programs and services, we provide a helping hand when it’s needed and the excellence in health care that you expect from ChristianaCare.

School-Based Health Centers were established especially for students to help make the best quality health care available in our community more accessible to them. Because they are located right in school, School-Based Health Centers help students overcome many obstacles to receiving good health care – obstacles such as lack of transportation, inconvenient appointment times, or worries about cost and confidentiality.
Children at every age can experience unique emotional and psychological challenges that may require professional evaluation and treatment. Our comprehensive program features a team of professionals that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, therapists, and counselors.
Camp FRESH (Fresh Resources Everyone Should Have) is a program designed to empower Wilmington youth to become agents of change within their communities. The program focuses on improving health and quality of life by expanding access to quality foods.
