Surgical Care

For safety reasons, you will be screened for COVID-19. If needed your doctor will order a COVID-19 test to be performed three to five days before your procedure. Here are directions on how to get tested at ChristianaCare’s labs. The results will be shared with your doctor, and your doctor’s office will contact you directly.

Before your procedure, your doctor may also order other lab work or schedule an appointment for you with the Center for Surgical Optimization (CSO) as part of your preparation for surgery.

Be sure to sign up for the ChristianaCare Patient Portal prior to your procedure to receive test results, manage follow-up appointments and communicate with your doctor.

Our pre-screening and COVID-19 testing measures are designed to identify anyone who has COVID-19 or is suspected to have COVID-19 before their arrival at our hospitals or surgery centers.

All staff members and physicians are screened daily. They do not come to work if they have any symptoms related to COVID-19.
