Perioperative Evaluation and Preparation (PEP) Process and Team

The Tour

Your surgeon has scheduled you for a procedure at a Christiana Care facility, which may include Christiana Hospital, Christiana Surgicenter, Wilmington Hospital, Christiana or Wilmington Endoscopy Suite, or Heart and Vascular Interventional Services.

Your provider’s office will call the Christiana Care Surgical Scheduling Department and request a date and time for your procedure.

Please follow the steps below.

1. What To Expect

A representative from Christiana Care’s PEP department will contact you by phone to schedule you for a telephone interview with the PEP Nurse. During the phone interview the PEP nurse will review your pre-anesthesia information. The phone appointment is an important part of having a positive surgical outcome.

A representative from Christiana Care’s Admitting department will also contact you by phone to pre-register you for your procedure. Be prepared to provide your health insurance information.
