Your surgeon has scheduled you to have surgery at a ChristianaCare facility, which includes Christiana Hospital, Christiana Surgicenter, Wilmington Hospital, and Roxana Cannon Arsht Surgicenter.
Your surgeon’s office will call the ChristianaCare Surgical Scheduling Department and request a date and time for your surgery.
Please follow the steps below.
A representative from ChristianaCare’s Admitting and PEP Department will contact you by phone to pre-register you for your procedure. Be prepared to provide your health insurance information. You will also be scheduled for a telephone interview with the PEP Nurse to review your pre-anesthesia information. The PEP Nurse phone appointment is a required and important part of having a positive surgical outcome.
You will receive a call within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. The PEP Nurse will ask you to provide the name and/or description of the surgery along with the information you have prepared. You will need pen and paper to write down instructions. During your telephone interview you will have the opportunity to ask questions you might have regarding your surgical procedure.
For questions after your interview, call 302-327-7700.
You may be asked to meet with a Physician Assistant from the Anesthesia Department. The PEP Nurse will schedule either a phone or personal interview with the Physician Assistant. If given an appointment, you will be asked to meet with the Physician Assistant at ChristianaCare Surgical and Procedure Unit. You may be required to have presurgical testing which may include blood work, EKG and chest X-ray.
