ChristianaCare is bringing kid-friendly care for accidents and illnesses that just can’t wait to our Newark campus in September.

From newborns to teens, we will be able to meet the needs of our pediatric patients, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Located in the Center for Women’s & Children’s Health, the ChristianaCare Pediatric Care Center was designed with kids and their families in mind.

Care you need when you need it the most



The Pediatric Care Center will be staffed by experts trained in pediatrics and emergency medicine. You can take comfort in knowing that our caregivers will give your child the care that they need when they need it the most. They will keep parents updated throughout their visit, and can treat children and teens for accidents and illnesses including:

  • high fever and infection
  • head or body injury
  • breathing problems
  • concussion
  • seizure
  • gastrointestinal symptoms
  • abdominal pain
  • dehydration
  • cuts and wound care
  • broken bones

Highlights of the Pediatric Care Center include:


  • New 8,400 square-foot facility found on the first floor of the Center for Women’s & Children’s Health featuring:
    • Kid-friendly setting designed specifically for children and teens, separate from the adult ER.
    • 14 patient beds providing emergency, short-stay inpatient, and observation care.
  • Emergency care for children under 18.
  • Staffed with caring, expert pediatric hospitalists, pediatric urgent care, and pediatric emergency care physicians.
  • Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Can safely evaluate children and adolescents with mental health concerns and give appropriate referral sources for follow-up care.
  • X-ray, ultrasound, and other diagnostics.
