From newborns to teens, we meet the needs of our pediatric patients, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Located in the Center for Women’s & Children’s Health, the ChristianaCare Pediatric Care Center was designed with kids and their families in mind.

For accidents or illnesses that just can’t wait, choose the ChristianaCare 24 Hour Pediatric Care Center:

  • New 8,400 square-foot facility found on the first floor of the Center for Women’s & Children’s Health featuring:
    • Kid-friendly setting designed specifically for children and teens, separate from the adult ER.
    • 14 patient beds providing emergency, short-stay inpatient, and observation care.
  • Emergency care for children under 18.
  • Staffed with caring, expert pediatric emergency medicine and pediatric hospitalist physicians.
  • Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Can safely evaluate children and adolescents with mental health concerns and give appropriate referral sources for follow-up care.
  • X-ray, ultrasound, and other diagnostics.

The Pediatric Care Center provides 24/7 care for emergencies and serious illnesses as well as expert care to children and adolescents with behavioral health emergency needs and provide appropriate referral sources for follow-up care. The Pediatric Care Center is equipped and staffed to care for children needing a higher level of care than an urgent care center can typically provide.

The Pediatric Care Center is staffed by experts trained in pediatrics and emergency medicine. You can take comfort in knowing that our caregivers will give your child the care that they need when they need it the most. They will keep parents updated throughout their visit, and can treat children and teens for accidents and illnesses including:

  • high fever and infection
  • head or body injury
  • breathing problems
  • concussion

  • gastrointestinal symptoms

  • cuts and wound care
  • broken bones
