End of Treatment

The end of your cancer treatment is cause for celebration. It also marks the beginning of your new life as a cancer survivor. Cancer and its treatment can impact every aspect of your life: physical, emotional, social and spiritual. Now you’ll need to find a new path forward as you adjust to your “new normal.”

What Will Life Look Like After Cancer?

For many, life after cancer is never quite the same — and this can be a good thing.

There is no single, correct way to be a survivor. Surviving cancer does not mean you are now expected to be happy every minute. Like everything else, being a cancer survivor has its challenges, and — just as you did during your treatment — you will learn how to get through them. We can help you do that.

Support for Survivors

Just as the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute has been with you throughout treatment, we are here for you in this new phase, whether you’ve just completed treatment or you’ve been a cancer survivor for years.

Established in 2006, our survivorship program was one of the first in the country and continually innovates to serve cancer survivors. Please consult the pages below for more information, or contact our Survivorship Nurse Navigator at 302-623-4866 to get the support you need.

Many cancer survivors are surprised to learn that side effects don’t magically disappear as soon as their treatment has ended.

After cancer treatment, it is important to continue with follow-up care. Your cancer care team will work with you on a personalized follow-up plan.
Many survivors find their cancer experience is a turning point in the way they approach their health and self care.
