Primary Care Services
Helping you manage your high blood pressure.
Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a serious condition you may have and not know it.
Almost half of US adults have hypertension, but only 1 out of 4 of those are controlling it. If you are part of the other 3 out of 4, you could be at risk for heart attack, stroke and more.
Part of the reason millions of Americans don’t have their high blood pressure under control is they don’t even know they have hypertension. They “feel fine.”
The problem is that you may feel fine and not be fine. Hypertension often has no outward signs. You might only find out you have the condition after you have had heart failure, kidney failure, etc.
But you can take control today by getting a blood pressure screening, and ChristianaCare can help.
For yourself and for the people you love, make an appointment with your primary care provider at ChristianaCare by making an appointment online. If you don’t have a provider, you can find one here.
Your provider can also connect you with a range of specialists, like a cardiologist, if needed, and help coordinate the overall care of your condition.
ChristianaCare has an organization-wide initiative focused on proven best treatment practices to support patients in lowering their blood pressure.
Call (302) 777-0643 to make an appointment with your primary care provider today. Or, if you are not connected with a provider yet, use ChristianaCare’s Find a Doctor tool to find a great physician for you.
The normal range for blood pressure is less than 120/80 mmHg. The American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology use the term elevated to describe an upper number (systolic) between 120 and 129 with a lower number (diastolic) under 80. High blood pressure is 130 and above on the top and 80 and above on the bottom.
