Our Practice

ChristianaCare’s Rocco A. Abessinio Family Wilmington Health Center is home to three primary care practices among other programs and services.

The ChristianaCare Wilmington Adult Medicine Center is our academic practice. This location includes physicians who are teachers, faculty members, making it possible for resident doctors to be part of your care team. Faculty participate in research and continually advance their knowledge as they mentor leading-edge and compassionate care teams who often continue working at ChristianaCare.

Primary Care services are supported and enhanced by the on-site pharmacy, diagnostic testing, social services and patient wellness and educational programs.

Monday, Wednesday to Friday - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday - 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

For urgent needs, Saturday hours are offered weekly in cooperation with other ChristianaCare Primary Care locations from 8 a.m. to noon. Please inquire when calling for an appointment.

For your convenience routine phone calls are handled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon.

Our clinician teams are made up of both residents and attending faculty physicians.

  • Adult and senior well and sick visits including annual wellness visits
  • Preventative medicine including chronic disease screening and management, cancer screenings and immunizations
  • Women’s health:  contraception counseling, pap smears
  • STI testing and counseling

The types of contraceptive methods we will council you on include LARC (long-acting reversible contraception) – IUDs and Implants
