Christopher Trotz, M.D., CPE, is chief medical officer for ChristianaCare’s Wilmington Campus. In this role, Dr. Trotz serves as the senior physician executive for Wilmington Hospital, partnering with physician leaders, caregivers and operational leaders to advance clinical excellence, quality and safety and support an exceptional environment for patients and caregivers.

Dr. Trotz is an experienced physician executive and family medicine physician with more than 20 years of clinical experience. Before joining ChristianaCare in 2026, he served as associate chief medical officer for Jefferson Health’s Montgomery and Lansdale campuses, providing leadership for quality, safety, medical staff affairs, graduate medical education and regulatory readiness. He previously served as vice president of physician services at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center and held executive and clinical leadership roles at Inspira Health. His public health leadership includes service as chief physician for the Delaware Division of Public Health.

Dr. Trotz earned his medical degree from The University of the West Indies Faculty of Medical Sciences in Jamaica and completed his family medicine residency at Inspira Health Center in Woodbury, New Jersey. He is board certified in family medicine and hospice and palliative medicine, is a Certified Physician Executive and holds an Executive MBA.
