Joining the team in 2022, Dr. Kareem Genena is a transplant nephrologist who serves as the Assistant Medical Director of the kidney transplant program. In addition to caring for patients both prior to and after receiving a kidney transplant, Dr. Genena is particularly interested in expanding opportunities for living donation, and for kidney transplantation after cancer treatment.
Upon earning his medical degree at the University of Alexandria in Egypt, Dr. Genena completed his internal medicine residency at the Seton Hall University Saint Francis Medical Center at Trenton, NJ, his general nephrology fellowship at the Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, TX, and his kidney transplant fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
