Physician Assistant

Elizabeth Masten, MS, PA-C, MBA, serves as ChristianaCare’s Director of Physician Assistant and Allied Health Education. In this role, she coordinates all physician assistant students who train in the ChristianaCare Health System, including their schedules, onboarding, and school partnerships. She also leads several Allied Health programs in conjunction with Delaware Technical Community College, supports faculty and academic budgets, and ensures that all programs meet required accreditation standards. Ms. Masten oversees new training opportunities for ChristianaCare’s physician assistant trainees and works with hospital teams to improve learning for students and staff.

Elizabeth Masten, MS, PA-C, MBA

Ms. Masten brings more than a decade of administrative experience in academic medicine, along with a strong commitment to supporting her students and colleagues, to ChristianaCare. Prior to joining the ChristianaCare team, she worked as assistant professor of practice and later as director of clinical education at Arcadia University’s Department of Medical Science in Glenside, PA, where she helped guide and shape the next generation of physician assistants. As director, she provided strategic direction and leadership for the clinical phase of Arcadia’s Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program, including the development, coordination, and implementation of clinical rotations. She also served as associate professor and clinical coordinator for the physician assistant program at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.

In addition to her extensive administrative experience, Ms. Masten is known for her compassionate, patient-centered approach as a physician assistant. Throughout her career, she has cared for patients across a wide range of settings. Her past clinical experience as a physician assistant includes roles in emergency medicine and trauma, obstetrics and gynecology, and geriatrics, among other positions, at sites in Delaware and New Jersey.

Ms. Masten earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She’s scheduled to complete her Master of Business Administration degree in 2026 from the Wilmington University College of Business and Technology in New Castle, DE.
