Chief Nursing Officer, ChristianaCare Wilmington
Jamie Ayala, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, RN-BC, serves as the chief nursing officer of ChristianaCare’s Wilmington campus. In this role, she provides strategic and operational leadership for all nursing services at Wilmington Hospital, partnering closely with nursing caregivers to uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient-centered care. She is deeply committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and compassion that enhances both the patient and caregiver experience.
Dr. Ayala’s two-decade career at ChristianaCare has been marked by progressive leadership and unwavering dedication to quality and safety. Prior to her current role, she served as director of Clinical Operations at the Wilmington campus, and has held several key leadership positions, including patient care facilitator, nurse manager of a medical-surgical unit and nurse manager of a rehabilitation unit.
Dr. Ayala earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Wilmington University and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Delaware. She completed a nurse manager fellowship with the American Organization of Nurse Leaders and participated in the Nurse Catalyst Lab through the Health Management Academy, where she is also a Fellow in the Nurse Executive Program.
