Clinical Service Line Leader, Neurosciences
Kimberly Gannon, M.D., Ph.D., FAHA, FACP, is the physician executive for the Neurosciences service line. In this role, she oversees ChristianaCare’s inpatient neurology consultative service, acute stroke service, ambulatory neurology practice, neurocritical care service and neurointerventional surgical service. Neurosciences partners closely with Delaware Neurosurgical Services. She focuses on both strategic and operational success, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care.

Dr. Gannon is a vascular neurologist who also serves as medical director for ChristianaCare’s stroke program, which includes the Comprehensive Stroke Center at ChristianaCare’s Newark campus; the Primary Stroke Center at the Wilmington campus; and the Middletown Hospital emergency department, an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital. She has been a member of the ChristianaCare team since 2016.

Dr. Gannon earned both her medical degree and doctorate in physiology and biophysics from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She completed a neurology residency and a fellowship in vascular neurology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and served as a member of the Housestaff Quality Improvement Council.

Dr. Gannon is clinical assistant professor of Neurology at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, a Fellow of the American Heart Association and Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Academy of Neurology. Her scholarship has been recognized with numerous awards, including induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
