Dr. Megan Mickley has served as chair of the Department of Pediatrics and physician executive for ChristianaCare’s Pediatric Service Line since 2025 after serving as interim chair since 2024. A board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physician, she brings deep clinical expertise and a passion for innovation to her leadership.

Dr. Mickley joined ChristianaCare in 2021 following years of clinical and business development work at several nationally recognized pediatric institutions, where she advanced pediatric emergency ultrasound programs. She came to ChristianaCare to lead the launch of the Pediatric Care Center in 2022 and establish the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

Widely respected for her dedication to pediatric care, Dr. Mickley has been recognized as a Top Doctor by Delaware Today and draws on formative experiences including global health work in Vietnam and with Partners In Health in Haiti and frontline emergency care during pivotal national events, including the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the 2015 Baltimore protests.

Dr. Mickley earned her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She holds an MBA in health administration from the University of Colorado. She completed her pediatrics residency at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital at the University of Michigan, followed by fellowships in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the combined Boston Medical Center/Boston Children’s program and in Emergency Ultrasound at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
