Megan O’Hara, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker for ChristianaCare’s Center for Women’s Emotional Wellness (CWEW). Ms. O’Hara earned her Master’s degree in clinical social work from Widener University and has extensive training in perinatal mood disorders. Ms. O’Hara has completed Postpartum Support International’s Components of Care, a nationally recognized, evidence based approach to working with perinatal mood disorders. In addition, Ms. O’Hara is a member of MedEdPPD.org, a professional network that provides specialized training in perinatal mood disorders and is supported by the National Institute of Mental Health.
Prior to coming to ChristianaCare in 2007, Ms. O’Hara worked extensively treating women and families effected by sexual abuse and intimate partner violence. Ms. O’Hara is a proponent of trauma-informed care and a certified member of the state of New Jersey’s Sexual Assault Response Team. Ms. O’Hara is licensed to practice in Delaware and Pennsylvania.
In Ms. O’Hara’s current role, she provides assessments, education, and treatment to women and their families who are at risk for or experiencing perinatal mood disorders. Ms. O’Hara is involved in ongoing program development for the Center for Women’s Emotional Wellness and provides professional education and consultation to other health professionals and the public.
