Sarah Goncher, Esq.
Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary
Sarah Goncher, Esq., is the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of ChristianaCare. In this role, she contributes to strategic discussions and decision-making impacting the health system. She is responsible for all legal affairs across the system and provides counsel to the senior leadership team and Board of Directors. She manages and leads the Legal and Risk Management department.
Goncher joined ChristianaCare in 2019, most recently serving as Senior Vice President and General Counsel.
She was previously a deputy attorney general and unit head of the Health Law Unit, Civil Division, of the Delaware Department of Justice, where she managed a team of attorneys representing the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services, the Delaware Department of Services for Children Youth and their Families, and the Delaware Department of Correction. She also previously worked as a staff attorney at Community Legal Aid Society, Inc.
Goncher received a bachelor’s degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a J.D., cum laude, from the Charles Widger School of Law, Villanova University.
