Bariatric Surgery (Weight Loss Surgery)
Important documents and information for bariatric patients.
As you embark on your bariatric surgery journey, Baritrax360 will be the roadmap you use to navigate the process. You can log into your personal portal at any time to track your progress, view requirements, and see exactly what steps remain before your surgery. It's a simple way to stay informed, organized, and ensure that you're moving forward with confidence on your journey.
In addition, you may have been given the Weight Loss Surgery Guide at the time you met with your surgeon. The guide contains a lot of information to help you before and after surgery, including general surgery information, hospital discharge instructions, tips on how to avoid hair loss and constipation, frequently asked questions before and after surgery, what to do if you get sick with a cold or stomach virus, and ways to stay connected to be more successful in your weight loss journey.
The Life Skills Video Series was created by the ChristianaCare Bariatric Program to support you in your weight loss journey. The videos cover topics about surgery, foods to eat before and after surgery, vitamins, exercise, mental health, and wellness after surgery and much more. This information is important to know before surgery but also great to review again after surgery.
We encourage you to follow along with the Life Skills Packet to take notes and learn even more about the topics. This packet can be found in your Weight Loss Surgery Guide or you can download it below. Please note - the videos mention a binder, but this has been replaced by the Weight Loss Surgery Guide.
Bariatric Support Groups are incredibly important after bariatric surgery. They are not only educational, but also provide encouragement and motivation in the pursuit of good health.
This hour-long session involves an educational presentation led by one or more of our ChristianaCare healthcare providers and patients followed by an open discussion. Our sessions are free and available to new and existing patients, as well as patients joining to learn more about bariatric surgery.
