When Should You Refer Your Patient?

If you have a patient with any of the conditions listed below, your patient may benefit from a referral to ChristianaCare Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center.

Common indications for advanced wound therapy:

  • Pressure ulcers.
  • Diabetic foot ulcers.
  • Traumatic wound.
  • Venous stasis ulcers.
  • Surgical wounds.
  • Chronic non healing wounds.

Approved indications for HBO treatment:

  • Acute sensory hearing loss.
  • Acute retinal artery occlusion.
  • Chronic refractory osteomyelitis.
  • Diabetic ulcer of the lower extremity.
  • Osteoradionecrosis as an adjunct to conventional treatment.
  • Preparation & preservation of compromised skin graft.
