When you’re expecting a baby, there are many decisions to make — and choosing where you’ll deliver your baby is one of the most important. It’s easy to see why so many families choose ChristianaCare as the best place to deliver their babies.
The experienced health care professionals on our labor and delivery teams are committed in providing the expert care and personal attention you deserve in a comfortable, safe setting. For generations, ChristianaCare has partnered with mothers and their families at this very special time.
Parking is free, and available in the visitor parking garage located right across from the Women’s & Children’s building’s main entrance.
If you are in active labor, or there is an emergency, a support person can pull up to the drop off entrance of the building and you can be dropped off before your support person parks. Wheelchairs are available if needed.
Full details on visitation can be found on our visitation policy.
We will have everything you and your baby need during your stay here. However, there are some additional things you may want to include in your bag:
ChristianaCare takes the safety of our patients, visitors and caregivers seriously. Each main entrance has metal detectors and security personnel for your safety.
Each baby will have a HUGS tag, and ID bands placed on them after delivery as part of our security measures.
Mom and baby will receive a Teddy Bear Bracelet that connects them both with the same numbers.
Employees of the Women’s & Children’s department are recognizable by having a yellow stripe across their ChristianaCare identity badge highlighting their name and title.
