Your support will make a profound a lasting impact on the health of our diabetic community. In addition to broadening diabetes management through outreach to patients, much needed equipment can be purchased to help those in need. This includes retinal eye cameras, Glucometers, Hemoglobin A1C testing machines, blood pressure cuffs and more.

ChristianaCare’s Center for Advanced Joint Replacement at Wilmington Hospital is among the most advanced, comprehensive programs for hip and knee replacement in the country, performing more than 1,500 total hip and knee replacements annually, using the latest minimally invasive techniques, with clinical outcomes that are among the best in the nation. Our patient satisfaction scores are consistently above 97 percent.

The Center for Heart & Vascular Health is the only center in the region that integrates in cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, vascular interventional radiology, cardiology and interventional nephrology in a single location. Our medical team of more than 100 doctors and allied health care providers includes some of the world’s leading experts in the treatment and prevention of heart disease, stroke and other diseases that affect the heart and blood vessels.

In this state-of-the-art facility, researchers turn discoveries into innovative new treatments for cancer patients, literally working “bench to bedside” to refine and perfect breakthroughs to benefit people as quickly as possible. This collaborative effort brings together scientists and physicians to discuss different aspects of cancer treatment and find ways to collaborate on new and innovative research.

Research has also shown that not all communities have access to quality health care. Primary Care & Community Medicine is focused on the development of innovative, effective models of primary care delivery that reach everyone in the community. This includes School-Based Wellness Centers, Home-Based Primary Care and the Center for Special Health Care Needs. Your support will ensure everyone in the community has access to the right care, at the right place and at the right time.

The First State School addresses the unique challenges facing children with chronic diseases. The school is the first of its kind in the United States, combining traditional classroom schooling with the special medical care these children require. Children attending First State School have conditions such as arteriovenous malformation, kidney disease, osteogenesis imperfecta, diabetes, sickle cell anemia, severe asthma, seizure disorder, hypertension, leukemia, and HIV and childhood cancers. Many of the children hail from economically challenged families. To date, 96% of students have left the school and successfully returned to mainstream programs.

Misunderstandings can occur when individuals don’t understand their doctor’s recommendations or are sick, frightened or impaired. ChristianaCare is developing a systemwide Health Literacy Program to help people be healthier. Your support will help strengthen communication with caregivers and patients and provide culturally and linguistically appropriate materials and videos to serve a variety of medical concerns.

The Helen F. Graham Cancer Center is home to some of the most advance cancer-fighting technology in the world,including the Cyberknife Robotic Radiosurgery System, the Da Vinci Robotic Surgery system, and Delaware’s only dedicated breast MRI scanner. The center combines the technology with internationally recognized medical experts who are versed in the latest research and have access to clinical trials, providing a standard of care that sets ChristianaCare apart from other options in the state.

Christiana Health is the only delivering hospital in Delaware offering Level 3 neonatal intensive care, the highest level of capability. Our neonatal intensive-care unit provides the highest standards of acute and non-acute care, combining latest technology with expert, caring staff.

Through a competitive selection process, the Ruth Shaw Junior Board Scholarship program offers financial assistance, including tuition and textbooks, to students currently enrolled in nursing and allied health programs. The talented and well-prepare students then fulfill a commitment to work for ChristianaCare upon graduation.

ChristianaCare has trained more than 5,000 area dentists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons. In addition to the education, this department takes care of our community, including those with limited options for comprehensive dental and oral-facial care.

Each year, ChristianaCare trains nearly 300 residents in 14 different specialties. The Fund supports initiatives that relieves unforeseen financial stressors for these residents and enhances their lives, ensuring a positive experience as they pursue their medical training.

The Swank Memory Care Center, which opened in spring 2011, provides multidisciplinary care for patients suffering with memory disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and support for their caregivers.

As the largest accredited home-health agency in Delaware, the Visiting Nurse Association is committed to helping Delawareans live independently, manage chronic diseases, understand and manage their medications and obtain home health care that is affordable and of the highest quality.

To meet the growing needs of our neighbors, ChristianaCare is building an eight-story Women & Children’s Center which is due to be completed in Spring 2020. The building will feature private post-delivery rooms for mothers and families, along with admitting and discharge areas for added convenience. A new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) will offer private rooms with sleeping spaces for families.
