Danielle Weber, DNP, MSM, RN-BC, NEA-BC, is the chief nurse executive at ChristianaCare. With more than 20 years of nursing and leadership experience at ChristianaCare, Danielle leads the organization’s Magnet-designated nursing caregivers by setting strategic priorities, advising leadership on nursing best practices, establishing policies and procedures and overseeing nursing education and research. She fosters a collaborative environment to ensure evidence-based care in both acute care, ambulatory, and home health settings.
As a career-long nurse and leader at ChristianaCare, Danielle has advanced nursing practice in every role. As chief nursing officer of the Wilmington campus during the COVID-19 pandemic, she created a culture of collaboration to ensure caregiver safety, patient care excellence, sound operations and continuous performance improvement amid rapidly changing conditions. Danielle has also served as vice president of Patient Care Services for several service lines, and in leadership roles in Neurosciences and Heart & Vascular Services. She was nurse manager of the Transitional Surgical Unit, the Transitional Neuro Unit, which she helped open, and the Neurocritical Care Unit, which earned a bronze Beacon Award for excellence in critical care under her leadership.
Danielle earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Neumann University and a dual master’s degree in nursing leadership and health care administration from Wilmington University. She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Drexel University. Danielle is board certified in medical-surgical nursing and has an advanced nurse executive certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She was the inaugural recipient of ChristianaCare’s DAISY Nurse Leader Award.
Danielle is a fellow in 2024-25 cohort of the prestigious Johnson & Johnson Nurse Innovation Fellowship Program. She is a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership and serves on the mentor committee for the Delaware Organization for Nurse Leaders. She is also a member of the Nurse Advisory Committee for the Health Management Academy Fellows Program, where she participated as a nurse fellow.
