Valerie Cohen, DO is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine.

A Delaware native and DIMER program graduate, Dr. Cohen earned her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences at James Madison University in 2003 where she played Division 1 field hockey. She then went on to complete a masters in Biomedical Sciences in 2006 and her medical degree in 2011 at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where she was also an undergraduate fellow in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. She completed her 5-year combined Emergency Medicine/Family Medicine (EMFM) residency at Christiana in 2016 where she served as both EM and EMFM chief resident.

Dr. Cohen is clinical instructor and educator of Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine at both Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

In addition to working full-time clinically in the emergency department and precepting residents in the family medicine office, she serves as core faculty and Associate Program Director of the EMFM residency program.
