Learn MoreGet Your Flu Shot
This flu (influenza virus) season, protect yourself and your family by getting your flu shot as soon as possible. The flu can spread easily and is most likely to spread in the fall and winter. So, getting a flu shot is more important than ever, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the flu shot will not prevent the spread of COVID-19, it can help keep you and those around you healthy.
A flu shot is especially important for people who are at high risk for getting health problems with the flu. This includes: babies over age 6 months, people 65 and older, pregnant women, and people with other chronic health conditions.
Should I get a flu shot if I have had a Covid vaccine or infection?
There is no minimal waiting period between receipt of the flu vaccine and other vaccinations (including the COVID vaccine). Both vaccines may be administered on the same day, if necessary. The CDC recommends that patients who are moderately or severely ill with COVID-19 infection should postpone vaccination until they have recovered. Those in isolation or quarantine for COVID-19 should not be vaccinated if there will be a risk of transmission to others.
