At ChristianaCare, everything we do is For the Love of Health™, and that focus has guided our response throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We have redesigned how we deliver care to keep our patients and caregivers safe, while providing the high-quality care that our community needs and deserves. This includes greatly expanded options for virtual care and telehealth visits, as well as guidelines that support social distancing, wearing masks, a clean environment and limited numbers of patients and visitors to ensure safety. Warning signs of a stroke are clues that your brain is not getting enough oxygen. You and your family should learn these warning signs. Time lost is brain lost; with every minute that goes by, brain cells die. There are treatments which can be started in the hospital to open up a blocked artery in the brain but they need to be started as soon as possible.

ChristianaCare’s Stroke Program has been recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, the most advanced level of expertise in stroke care by national certifying organization The Joint Commission. We provide 24-7 availability of expertise in stroke care including neurologists, neurosurgeons, and neurointerventional radiologists.
