Healthcare Career Shadowing

Considering a Career in Health Care?

Are you a high school or college student considering a career in health care? Through ChristianaCare’s Healthcare Career Shadowing Program, you will experience a unique, up-close view of what it’s like to work in the health care field.

Students can expect to observe providers interacting with patients, team members and families to understand the intricacies of that healthcare profession. Your preceptor will understand that you are there to observe and learn, thus you will not be expected to contribute to patient care. As a shadower, you can take away as much from the experience as you put into it; you can even seek advice about the medical specialty, educational training required or work-life balance.

ChristianaCare offers shadowing experiences for students age 16 and over through two tracks:

ChristianaCare’s physicians and health care providers have earned national recognition for their contributions to medicine.
