This conference is for professional nurses and students seeking to use research, quality improvement, evidence-based practice (EBP) and innovation to improve patient outcomes and enhance the practice environment.

Conference Highlights

Kenrick Cato, PhD, RN, CPHIMS, FAAN, FACMI

Kenrick Cato, PhD, RN, CPHIMS, FAAN, FACMI is a Professor of Informatics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and a Nurse Scientist for Pediatric Data and Analytics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Cato ’s work spans across various aspects of clinical informatics, emphasizing the integration of data science to enhance patient care and reduce operational burdens in healthcare settings.

Deena Brecher MSN, RN, ACNS-BC, CEN, CPEN, FAEN

Deena Brecher MSN, RN, ACNS-BC, CEN, CPEN, FAEN is a dynamic emergency nursing leader with a passion for helping nurses be the best they can be. She has been an emergency nurse for over 27 years, practicing in various roles including the Clinical Director for Emergency Services at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She firmly believes being involved in your professional association will open doors you never dreamed even existed and is grateful to have served as President of the Emergency Nurses Association in 2014. In her current role as the Chief Nursing Officer at Mednition, she ensures nurses are at the table when designing, testing, validating, and deploying nurse focused AI.

New World Implications for Nursing: Tips, Tricks and Challenges

Panel will host speakers who will address different aspects of AI, technology, simulation and other “New World” issues.

2024 Nursing Research or Evidence Based Practice Grant

Pursuing Nursing Research, Quality Improvement, or Evidence Based Practice focused on Nursing Innovation?

The Annual Nursing Research Conference Planning Committee is offering a 2024 Innovation in Nursing Grant. This $1,000 grant will be awarded to a nurse/s actively pursuing research, quality improvement, and/or evidence-based project with a focus on nursing innovation.

Eligibility

Active RN license
Active employment as a nurse in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, or New Jersey
Original research study
Quality Improvement initiative
Evidence-based Practice (EBP) Project/Initiative
Nursing innovation

Grant awardee will be required to attend the 2024 Nursing Research Conference to accept the award and 2025 Conference to share project outcomes.
