Evidence Based Practice Fellowship Program

The Evidence Based Practice Fellowship Program is designed to provide nurses with the knowledge, skills, and competencies in evidence-based practice (EBP). Nurses selected for this fellowship will receive structured training by program faculty and be assigned a primary mentor who will guide each fellow throughout the program with expertise in EBP. Nurse leaders, nurse educators, nurse scientists, and clinical experts will be available, as needed, to serve as internal consultants to support the application of EBP activities. The goal of this program is to develop nurses who will disseminate the best available research evidence into their practice.

Nurses (clinical nurses, nurse managers, nurse educators, advanced practice nurses). Allied health professionals interested in the program will be paired with participating nurse fellows.Structured monthly sessions with EBP focused didactics, group discussions around project and fellow progression, frequent mentoring sessions with primary mentor for targeted project guidance, completion of comprehensive online modules around Johns Hopkins Nursing Evidence-Based Practice (JHEBP) Model and tools.
RequirementsPre-Requisites
Completion of assigned JHEBP Model basic educational modules. Attendance of 80% of sessions. Demonstrate application by leading the implementation of a PICOT guided EBP project, with formal dissemination by oral presentation at completion of program.Must be a ChristianaCare nurse who holds a BSN or higher and works at least 48 hours per pay period. Interested fellows need approval of their manager or supervisor before applying. Learners must come with a clinical inquiry topic identified that aligns with organizational strategic priorities.

Continuing education credit for nurses are available.18-month program with 9 in-person sessions (27 hours) and 9 virtual sessions (9 hours).

Application

The EBP Fellowship Program is designed to provide nurses with foundational knowledge, skills and specific competencies in EBP. Nurses selected for this fellowship will receive structured training and mentoring to fulfill all requirements of the fellowship program. EBP fellows will be assigned a primary mentor(s) who will guide the fellow throughout the experience, in addition to the EBP fellowship program facilitators. The monthly workshops will align with the EBP process timeline and feature didactic teachings, opportunities for application and experiential learning exercises. EBP Fellow will be expected to disseminate their work through both internal and external efforts.

Registration Deadline

Application open: October 1st – November 1st, 2024.

Applicants may be requested for interview and will be notified for acceptance into fellowship by December 1st 2024.
